It’s time for another successful homeschool year! As you embark, here are 3 tips:
#1) Write a schedule
It’s one thing to “think” in your mind how your day should go. But a productive step in using the time in the day wisely is writing out a schedule. A schedule provides a daily vision. Habakkuk 2:2 (NKJV) tell us to…
“Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.”
A schedule will keep your time and mind focused on assignments and tasks that need to be completed each day.
#2) Prepare
Preparation is a vital key to the success of your homeschool. This includes multiple aspects such as preparing your heart and mind, your homeschool environment, and your students.
“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5 (NLT)
Preparation sets the foundation for a desired outcome. So take time to prepare for your homeschool year. You’ll be glad you did!
#3) Give yourself grace
At times we tend to forget that we are human and can become our own worst critic. We compare ourselves to other homeschool parents and feel inadequate when we don’t quite “measure up”. In God’s grace, there’s no need to strive to “measure up” because there isn’t a standard or expectation we are required to meet.
Some days you may question why you decided to homeschool your child. You may even feel like giving up. Instead of responding in a natural way to your thoughts and feelings, rest and rely on the supernatural strength God gives you through his grace. Be encouraged by 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV) that declares…
“my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
My prayer for you is that God will continue to equip you for your homeschool journey as the power of Christ continues to rest upon you.
