Shannon Ali

Daytime Playtime, Founder & Director

Shannon Ali graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University. She also received her Master's degree in speech language pathology and worked as a pediatric speech therapist at Melanie Massey Physical Therapy. Shannon always wanted to be teacher, but she ran from it. She was not able to run away from it long. She eventually went on to receive her alternative certification in health & physical education and taught dance at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy for 5 years. Shannon also worked as a dance teacher at Susan's Studio of Dance & Fitness in Haughton, LA during the evenings. She currently teaches CompTIA ITF+ and Entrepreneurship at Woodlawn Leadership Academy.

Shannon truly believes reading is power. Early intervention has been proven to be highly effective as she has experience personally from her 3 year old son who can read and is in a gifted education program. Shannon and her loving husband Jelani have three small children: Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Naomi. They are also the owners of the literacy enrichment program Daytime Playtime, LLC. Shannon uses fun practical activities to help every child learn. In addition, She focuses on teaching the parents to use these strategies daily.

Not only does Shannon love helping small children, but she also has a passion for serving the youth in her school and in her church. She and her husband have a heart for exposing kids to positive new experiences. They took a small group on their first trip to New York City, helped students land a dance role in a BET feature film, and helped students see a godly way of living.

Ashley Jordan

Academic Coach & ACT Prep Coordinator

Ashley Jordan has a B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. With an TPR Princeton Review Instructor Certification she has experience as an ACT-Prep & Test high school instructor for 4 years. She has served with well-known companies such as Princeton Review and ACT UP. Working with high school students, she has gained experience with college admissions coaching and assisting students with college applications, the application process, and getting accepted into their colleges and universities of choice.

Ashley also has experience in various areas including the medical field and retail management. However, her passion is to help others succeed in their area of choice. She is a wife and a stay-at-home mom who loves to serve God in any area that He leads her to. She currently serves and leads in her local church. Her passion is to continue to grow with her family and to help others along the way. She enjoys reading, loving on her family, and serving others.
